Planning for the mothballs! Posted Fri, 10/02/2020 - 09:28

After quite a bit of planning, Eldrich Host 2.0 — a complete rewrite using the EP2 rules and books — is underway! No ETA at present, but there will be a time in the coming 6-8 months when the EP1 version of this site will be archived and no longer usable. If you currently have character sheets, homebrew materials, or campaign documentation that's hosted here, we'll keep static versions of the content online for quite some time to ensure no one loses anything.

Further updates as events warrant!

Bioconservatives are strongly suspicious and critical of the transhuman direction the human race is taking. They are strong proponents of limiting technological development due to the threat it manifests to existing social orders. Bioconservative positions range from right-wing cultural conservatives to left-wing environmentalists. Though its prominence is shrinking, bioconservatism has a strong base among some religious groups, the Jovian Republic, and certain extremists.

Location Type

Larger in size than Luna, but darkly colored and not as heavily cratered, Ganymede and Callisto are very similar worlds. Neither is as dense (nor has as much gravity), as their mantles consist of more ice than iron rock. Both possess abundant volatiles and water (albeit frozen), making them ideal candidates for habitation. Ganymede, with its differentiated surface of rocky and icy terrain, has an iron core and thus a faint magnetic eld. Callisto, the smaller of the two, is composed mostly of icy silicate clays.

The Moabite strain functions exactly like the haunting virus (p. 366, EP), except that the character of the hallucinations and altered mental states experienced by the victims is explicitly religious. The infected are visited by angelic messengers inciting them to action, perceive non-believers as twisted hobgoblins and enemies as demons, and generally experience the world around them as being full of portents from God. Far from being typical cult charlatans, infected characters are imparted with genuine belief by the virus, making them particularly dangerous.
